While crews were able to gain full containment of the Pine Tree and Deep Creek fires in Northwest Colorado this week, crews have not been able to increase containment of the Big Red Fire, burning 5 miles south of the Wyoming state line in Routt County, near Clark. Containment of the Big Red Fire has remained steady since Monday at 15%. However, crews have been able to prevent the fire from growing this week, keeping it under 3,000 acres. The lightning started Big Red Fire has been burning in the area for more than a month. Photos from the Big Red Fire courtesy of the North Routt Fire Protection Facebook page, click to enlarge.
