Big Red Fire Bigger Than Previously Thought

Crews have determined the Big Red Fire in north Routt County is larger than previously estimated after a helicopter flight over the fire last night found the blaze had burned 530 acres. Firefighters continue to cut fire lines and monitor the fire. Private land near Big RedPark and an active Forest Service timber sale area could be at risk if the fire moves south, but currently, no structures are threatened by the blaze.
