The Big Red Fire, burning 5 miles south of the Wyoming state line near Clark in North Routt county, has grown from 530 to nearly 600 acres and is zero percent contained. Crews are focusing their efforts on protecting private property in the area by cutting fire lines. Warm and dry weather is expected over the weekend, which may lead to increased fire activity. The lightning started fire has forced the closure of Forest Roads and trails in the area. For more information on the closures, click here, for a map of the closures, click here.
