Beware Of Thin Ice

ICE THIN SIGNWith rising temperatures across the area it is important to remember that the ice that is covering many bodies of water is getting dangerously thin. It is recommended that these areas be avoided or that extreme caution be used when participating in recreational activities around lakes, ponds or rivers. The warmer weather has greatly increased the chance of falling through the ice, so remember to keep your children or pets a safe distance from any frozen body of water. It is also not recommended to go out on ice that is less than four inches thick, and no ice should ever be considered safe to walk on unless it has been tested first.
