Bennet Praises Executive Order

MICHAEL-BENNETColorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet yesterday welcomed the White House’s announcement that President Obama will sign yet another executive order.  This one would prohibit federal contractors from discriminating against lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) workers. Bennet is a cosponsor of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, which passed the Senate in November. The bill would provide workplace protections against discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.  But Bennet feels another measure is in order, prohibiting, specifically, contract workers from discriminating tactics.  The president has recently come under fire for the number of executive orders he has issued to date.  Senator Mark Udall has urged the president to use another executive order to force immigration reform.  Pictured:  Michael Bennet
