The state’s Air Quality Control Commission is in Craig today for their summer retreat. This is the group’s first visit to Craig, and it includes tours of Trapper Mine and Tri-State. The highlight is tonight’s open forum. The ColoWyo situation is expected to be a hot topic of discussion at the forum. The Office of Surface Mining has finished collecting public input on the new Environmental Assessment of the mine’s South Taylor Pit Permit. Tonight’s meeting will be an opportunity for Northwest Colorado residents to voice their opinions and ideas regarding air quality. It will be held at the Moffat County Fairgrounds Pavillion from seven to nine. There’s no cost to attend and everyone is welcome.
