I-70 Closed for Most of the Day Due to Shooting Investigation

A shooting has forced the Colorado State Patrol to close down I-70 today.  According to reports, a trooper made a routine stop near Dotsero, when shots were fired.  The trooper was injured, and the suspect is reportedly dead.  The trooper has not been identified, and is being treated at Valley View Hospital in Glenwood.  I-70 is west bound is closed both directions from Glenwood to Wolcott except to local traffic.  One lane of east bound I-70 is open. The Colorado State Patrol is advising those that were planning to travel I-70 through the Glenwood Canyon to find an alternate route.  The interstate was closed around 10 this morning and is expected have closures until sometime this evening, while troopers investigate the scene.
