Four separate vehicle accidents in Wyoming during the past week claimed the lives of 7 people. 3 of those killed were wearing seat belts at the time of their accident, 4 were not. In one accident, excessive speed and the lack of seat belt use are believed to have contributed to the accident; in a second, contributing factors are thought to have been alcohol use, texting while driving and excessive speed; Alcohol and drug use as well as the lack of seat belt use contributed to a third accident,. Contributing factors for the 4th crash are still under investigation. As of yesterday there have been 57 highway fatalities in Wyoming this year which is down from the 92 fatalities during this same time period in 2015.
