People from Craig to Baggs were without power for a little over two hours Friday night. According to a Yampa Valley Electric Facebook post, the outage, which affected nearly 5,000 customers, is believed to have been caused by an Xcel Energy transmission issue. Xcel Energy is the wholesale power provider for Yampa Valley Electric. The outage lasted from 10 Friday night, to just after midnight Saturday. According to YVEA, the problem is believed to have originated at the Thompson Hill substation.
