Coloradans Hit The Road For Thanksgiving

holiday-travelThe number of Coloradans traveling more than 50 miles from their homes for the Thanksgiving holiday is expected to increase for the 9th straight year.  AAA is estimating that approximately 791 thousand Coloradans or 14.5% of the population will travel away from home for the Thanksgiving Holiday.  Nationally, 48.7 million Americans are expected to leave home for Thanksgiving.  680 thousand or 86% of the Colorado travelers will hit the road in cars, with another 7% expected to travel by plane.  Last year gas prices were at a 10 year low for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.  This year, drivers will pay an average of ten cents more per gallon at the pump.
