The race to replace term limited Colorado Governor John Hickenloopr is already underway. State Senator Mike Johnston announced last week that he is running for governor. Johnston is the second of what’s expected to be a long list of Democrats who want to take over for Gov. John Hickenlooper when his second term comes to an end next year. Businessman Noel Ginsburg, also a Democrat, announced just before Christmas that he had filed the paperwork to become a candidate for Governor. Others thought to be considering a run for Governor include former United States Senator Ken Salazar and current Representative Ed Perlmutter both Democrats, and Republicans, State Treasurer Walker Stapleton and District Attorney George Brauchler.
